This opt-out is for students beginning their studies in January 2018. Students who began in September are not eligible to opt-out at this time. If you opted out previously, you do not need to opt-out again.
Your opt-out is successful when you see a pop up that says "SUCCESS!" and receive a confirmation e-mail to your @trentu.ca e-mail address. If you do not see either of these items, your opt-out was likely not received. Please try again or contact us on the Live Chat for assistance with opting out.
OPT-OUT REFUNDS:
The TCSA assesses an administration fee of $5 for every opt-out processed. As such, all opt-outs will be less $5 automatically.
Starting in September 2017, Student VIP will be offering refunds via E-Transfer. This process is faster, more secure and more reliable than direct deposit. If you choose this option, a service fee of $3 will be deducted, in addition to the $5 administration fee, from your refund. E-transfer refunds will be available in Mid-February/Early March. You will be notified via your @trentu.ca e-mail address with instructions on how to deposit your refund when it is ready.
Direct Deposit is still an option for students at no additional fees above the regular $5 administration fee will apply. However, note that Direct Deposit refunds will not be available until later in November. If a students direct deposit information is incorrect and the refund is not successful, a $5 fee will apply to any cheques that may need to be issued to the student. Information on how to find your Direct Deposit information can be found online HERE.
