Your opt-out is successful when you see a pop up that says "SUCCESS!" and receive a confirmation e-mail to your @dcmail.ca / @durhamcollege.ca e-mail address. If you do not see either of these items, your opt-out was likely not received. Please try again or contact us on the Live Chat for assistance with opting out. Since September 2018, Student VIP has been processing refunds via E-Transfer. This process is faster and more reliable than Direct Deposit Refunds. Refunds will be available in mid-late November. You will be notified via your @dcmail.ca / @durhamcollege.ca e-mail address with instructions on how to deposit your refund when it is ready.
In order to opt-out, proof of comparable alternative coverage is required. Provincial health plans (i.e. OHIP) or government assistance plans (i.e. ODSP, ODB, Ontario Works) are not acceptable as alternative coverage.
International Students remaining in their Home Country due to COVID-19 have been granted the ability to opt-out of the Health & Dental Plan through DCSA. If you are studying in your home country, outside of Canada - please use the DCSA Home Country Opt-Out Form to submit your opt-out request. Please Note: You will be required to opt-out each term you are outside of Canada. You must notify DCSA if you travel to Canada prior to January so your coverage is activated.
