International students are required to be enrolled in UHIP. The Student VIP benefits are supplementary benefits that work in combination with UHIP to ensure students have coverage where UHIP does not.
In order to be eligible for your student Health & Dental Benefits, you must have UHIP or comparable coverage in place.
If you graduate or withdraw from your studies, this may affect your coverage under UHIP. This means, you will have no coverage for emergency medical services such as going to the doctor. If you withdraw from studies, your Health and Dental benefits will only remain in effect if you obtain alternate primary care coverage.
